What is The Paper, the new spin-off of The Office with Domhnall Gleeson about?

The Paper is an exciting new comedy series coming out in 2025, officially a spin-off of The Office. Instead of the usual office setting at Dunder Mifflin, this show takes place in a small local newspaper called The Flint Times, located in Toledo, Ohio.

Domhnall Gleeson stars as Ned Sampson, an idealistic editor-in-chief who’s trying to save a team of quirky, often unmotivated reporters. Just like The Office, the series uses a mockumentary style with plenty of awkward moments, funny dialogue, and those classic looks into the camera.

Fans of the original will be happy to know that Oscar Martinez (played by Oscar Nuñez) returns, now working as the newspaper’s accountant. His reaction to the filming crew’s return — “Not again” — is already becoming iconic.

The Paper will be streaming on Peacock starting September 4, 2025. If you loved the unique humor of The Office, this spin-off promises to bring back that same vibe with fresh characters and a new setting.
